MATILDE MUOCHA SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Matilde Muocha holds a Post-Graduation in Management of Cities and Creative Entrepreneurs by the National University of Cordoba in Argentina and a Master’s Degree in History of Mozambique and Southern Africa by Eduardo Mondlane University.
She develops research in the areas of management of cultural and creative industries, with a particular interest in analyzing the economic potential of arts and culture for local development. She published the first book in cultural industries in Mozambique “Cultural Industries: what is it and how is it done?”. She also has published articles in scientific journals, leisure journals and newspapers in Mozambique and Spain, highlighting the articles “Maputo: the emergence of a creative city”, “Inclusive access to places and knowledge of cultural historical interest in the city of Maputo, Mozambique”, “Cultural Financing” and “Management of Artistic Careers”.
She was during 9 years manager of Maputo Fortress. She is currently a lecturer and researcher at the Higher Institute of Arts and Culture of Mozambique. She is also an independent researcher and cultural consultant. Matilde Muocha is an alumna from the International Visitor Leadership Programme for Cultural Preservation from the Government of United States.
